A bittersweet end: A time for goodbyes, reflection, thank you's

This is a bittersweet time for me as I look back on my year as Editor-in-Chief of The Woods. It seems like just yesterday I was planning out the publishing dates, and here I sit today, working on the 15th and last issue of The Woods for the year.
This has been a great year for The Woods. We have grown and changed and had our share of successes and challenges. It is never an easy task to cover everything that happens on campus and keep a finger on the pulse of the school. The Woods is also experiencing the challenge that other print media is these days, attempting to find a balance between technology and print in a fast paced society.
Being editor has been a great learning experience for me. It is definitely a balancing act, juggling the responsibilities as editor and the normal college and life responsibilities. It was a lot of hard work, but I wouldn't have traded it for the world.
I would like to thank the entire staff of The Woods, because every person plays a part. The newspaper is a complex production, and even while you might feel like you aren't helping that much, every little bit helps. We had a great core staff of writers and many creative minds that pitched in each issue to make it what it was.
Also, I'd like to thank the campus community here at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Your support is what keeps this paper going. It is always nice to receive feedback on the issues. Please remember to keep letting the staff, editor and adviser know what you would like to see in the paper because without your help, some wonderful stories could be missed.
Finally, this paper would not be what it is without the help of our adviser, Elaine Yaw. It was her excellent guidance that really helped me make it through this year as editor. She teaches with such passion and pushes the staff to reach our full potential. Elaine truly has gone above and beyond, contributing so much time and energy to improving The Woods.
