Media Credit: Chanel Reeder White Violet gardeners just washed these fresh-picked tomatoes during a visit to the greenhouse in September. Some of the produce goes to the kitchens for the Sisters of Providence. The rest goes to the Farmer's Market.

For those at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, there's a farmer's market in your backyard. Here's a list of farmer's markets in the immediate area.

White Violet Farmer's Market: Wednesdays, May through September, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. North entrance of SMWC campus, by the Self-Sufficient Ministries House. Offers certified organic produce grown at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. Also features items from other area farms.

Downtown Terre Haute Farmer's Market: 8 a.m. to noon, Saturdays, June through October. Corner of 9th and Cherry streets, across from Clabber Girl Museum. White Violet has a booth. There's a call-out and organizational session for the market following a community garden meeting ending at 7 p.m. March 25.
