Saint Mary-of- the-Woods College is well-known for having a beautiful campus. The historic value of the buildings and gorgeous yards make the college a wonderful setting for an education. Le Fer Hall is the dormitory for resident students at SMWC. The exterior of Le Fer appears elegant. However, the interior of the Le Fer is not the equal of its exterior. Beauty seems to be only on the outside. So where does the responsibility fall?
We were initially thoroughly searched in the entrance lobby of the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle, an all-male, maximum and medium security prison. Airport security searches, but prison security really searches. We left all our belongings in lockers in the lobby … which was all security measure to curb drug trafficking and weapon trafficking.

I started to become hungry in high school. Not hungry for food, necessarily, but for God. This hunger was interesting, since God was a regular part of my life. My parents are Catholic, and they brought my sister and me to Mass every Sunday faithfully all throughout my childhood. Still, somehow, I was hungry.
